VoxRead brings you the great classics as the original story in clear, modern language.
The plots, the characters and the big moments are all still there. We only change the old, heavy wording, so you can simply enjoy books like Frankenstein, The Time Machine and The Scarlet Letter without stopping to decode every sentence.
Listen or read
Every book comes as an audiobook with a warm, natural voice, and as an e-book you can download. Listen on a walk, read on the train, or switch between the two.
A story to follow at bedtime
Many of our listeners use VoxRead to fall asleep. A calm story gives a busy mind something gentle to follow. Set the 15-minute sleep timer, press play and let the story carry you off. When you come back on the same device, the player picks up where you left off.
Why classics
These books are free for everyone, because their copyright has long expired. We believe the best stories ever written should be easy to enjoy, whatever your age and however much English you read every day.
Who we are
VoxRead is a small, independent project. We use modern tools to prepare and narrate each book, and we listen closely to what our readers tell us. If something could be better, the feedback button on every page comes straight to us.
